Yield: 4 Persons
Prep time: 10 minutes
Total time: 25 minutes
- Wheat Flour – 2 cups
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Water – as required
- Salt – ¼ tsp
How I Do it :
To make Phulka, mix all ingredients and make a soft dough.
Add water slowly while making the dough to the required consistency.
Coat with a layer of oil and leave it covered for 30 min
Heat the skillet.
Meanwhile Roll a lemon size dough in round shape as thin as possible
Keep tossing in flour while doing so, as the dough might tend to stick
Roll out a batch of 5-10 as required , so that it becomes easier to make Phulka’s together. They can be placed on top of each other , just dust with some flour to avoid sticking to each other.
Now , keep the heat in high and place one rolled out dough to the skillet for 5 sec and flip the side.
Once the dough starts showing bubbled, remove from skillet and place the opposite side on direct heat.
The Roti will become like balloon , with the help of tongs remove from heat and place it in a plate.
Coat with Ghee. Similarly , repeat the process with all other doughs.
Serve hot with any sabzi !
Special Instructions :
Add Milk/ Curd as to the dough , this makes the Phulka softer and tastier.
Dough needs to stand for sometime before making the Phulka, if you run short of time, keep the dough prepared and stored in fridge the previous day.
