Genhu Sheera or Wheat flour Halwa

Yield: 1 1/2 cup

Total time: 30 minutes

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup Wheat Flour ( Genhu Atta) 
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Ghee
  • 2 cup Water
  • ½ tsp Cardamom Powder ( Elaichi) 
  • 5-6 Almonds  (finely chopped)

How I do it :

In a wok , heat ghee .Add the flour  and stir till the raw smell of the flour disappears . The Flour also changes color and turns slightly brownish .

Meanwhile heat water and sugar,until the sugar melts. Add the cardamom powder to it and remove from heat.

Add the sugar water to the flour slowly in portions and  while doing so keep keep stirring

It might look like forming lumps, but don’t worry. Keep Stirring hard with the spatula.

When the sheera starts leaving the wok , we know its ready.

Remove it to a greased plate . Add  some  ghee on top . Garnish with Almond strands.

Serve hot.

Special Information :

Use a thick bottomed pan or the mix will get burnt quickly

Adjust the quantity of water a little.
