- Rohu Fish – 500 gms
- Red Chilli Powder – 1tbsp
- Jeera Powder – 2tbsp
- Dhania Powder – 1 1/2tsp
- Karuvepilai/ Curry leaves powder – 1tsp(dried and powdered)
- Ginger garlic paste – 1tbsp
- Salt- to taste
How I do it :
Mix all the ingredients with little oil and apply on fish.
Once coated all over, heat oil in a pan.
Place the fish ¾ depending on the size of the pan.
Cook in low heat, till the fish turns slight brownish.
Turn gently to the other side and allow it to cook again.
As soon as it turns brown, increase the heat and keep flipping both sides a couple of times for few seconds on each side
This will give crispiness to the fish
Server hot with steamed rice and dal/sambhar.
Special Instructions :
You can dip the marinated fish in breadcrumb as alternative.
To make the breadcrumbs, keep few bread pieces under fan for few hours spread on a muslin cloth/ any dry clean cloth. Then break them randomly into small pieces , add equal quantity of cornflakes and grind them for few seconds.I generally keep the grains little coarse so that it can give a crunchy final texture. You can Toast the bread in oven as well for 1 minute and grind it with cornflakes.
