- Tomato – 2 Chopped
- Cinnamon Stick – 1 inch
- Saunf or Fennel Seeds – 1 tsp
- Onion – 1 finely chopped
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Red Chilli – 1
- Red Chili Powder – ½ tsp ( optional)
- Sambhar masala – ½ tsp
- Coriander Leaves – 2 tbsp ( finely chopped)
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Water – 1 cup
- Salt – to taste
How I do it :
Heat oil in a Wok. Add cinnamon stick, fennel seeds, tomato and stir well in medium flame until Tomato becomes soft.
Allow it to cool and make a paste in grinder.
Again add oil to a pan for sauting. When oil heats, add mustard seeds, red chilli, sambhar masala and chopped onions.
Cook until onions become tender ,then add the tomato paste ,salt, water.
Let it heat in low flame for 10 min. Remove and garnish with coriander leaves.
Serves best with Idli/ Dosa.
Special Information :
The ideal consistency of the dish should be like sambhar or Dal.
