- Milk – 1 litre
- Lemon juice – 1tbsp
How I make Paneer :
Heat milk to boil, add lemon juice and keep stirring.
As soon as the milk coagulates , strain in a metal strainer.
Press it hard with a spatula and shape it square shape.
Leave it for 30 minutes.
Invert it on a plate and cut into cubes.
Ingredients for Palak Gravy :
- Palak/ Spinach – 300 gms
- Tomato – ½ cup
- Onion – 1 cup
- Ginger – 1 tsp
- Garlic – 6 pods( deskinned)
- Green Chillies – 2
- Cumin/ Jeera powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Water – ½ cup
- Fresh Cream – 1tbsp for Garnish
How I make the gravy :
In a wok, add the water, salt , washed Palak, Ginger, Garlic and Green chillies.
Let it cook in low heat until the water disappears. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
Grind to fine paste.
Heat oil in a wok. Add tomato puree.
When the oil starts to separate in the sides of the wok, add the Palak puree.
Allow it to cook for 5 minutes, add the cumin powder and garam masala.
Add the Paneer cubes and remove from heat.
Garnish with Fresh Cream
Special Instructions :
Do not garnish with Fresh creme while too hot, the creme will either curdle or melt effecting the end visuals.
Do not cover the Palak while cooking as it tends to loose the green color
